On Friday, March 16th, Kahoot! Night took place once again at J Cafe, organized by Pelham LOFT along with the generous donations of J Cafe and several other Pelham businesses. Kahoot! Night was filled with games, food, fun and prizes, including gift cards to local restaurants such as Wolfs Lane Delicatessen, Jcafe, Lenny’s Bagels and Pelham Pizza. With over 30 Pelham teens in attendance, Kahoot! Night was a sure success.
For an admittance fee of just $5, teens indulged in a buffet of J Cafe wraps, salads and brownies and played the game Kahoot! with a team for a chance to win prizes and get their team’s name engraved on the Kahoot! Night trophy. Each round was a game of Kahoot! with topics that included fun Pelham trivia as well as brain teasers, pop culture and places around the world. The winning team, Scalene, was comprised of four Pelham students— Erin Cohen, Lukas Glist, Julian Wisdom, Sophie Xu. Team Scalene won multiple rounds as well as the final round, making them the winners of the Kahoot! trophy and a $10 gift certificate to Pelham Pizza for each of them!
Pelham LOFT hopes to organize another Kahoot! Night for middle school-age youth and keep it on the calendar as a youth-run event every year. In addition, Pelham LOFT is organizing several other teen focused events, such as the upcoming annual Field Fest, which will be taking place Saturday, May 12th from 3:00-6:00 pm on Ingalls Field. Pelham LOFT strives to host events that Pelham teens will enjoy to increase the number of safe, social alternatives in town for young people. This is done through the generosity and kindness of local Pelham businesses along with the support of the High School and Youth to Youth Club.
Thank you, J Café for hosting this “pop up” teen event. Pelham Pizza, Lenny’s Bagels, Renaissance Deli, and Wolfs Lane Deli for their donations of gift cards. And, finally, CONGRATS to Team Scalene!
